BKW strives to continuously improve and further develop its sustainable activities. In doing so, it takes into account the three pillars of sustainable development: environment, social affairs and responsible corporate governance (ESG). In addition, BKW is obliged to ensure compliance with the legal requirements regarding sustainability in the value chain. This responsibility also extends to BKW's supply chains, meaning that the Group holds its suppliers accountable.
Increasing supply chain transparency in cooperation with our suppliers is a key factor in this regard. This allows us to identify actual and potential risks to people and the environment and avoid them at an early stage – or at least mitigate them. BKW has therefore set itself the goal of identifying the ESG profile of those suppliers with potential social and environmental risks. This also includes establishing sustainability performance at a sound level (industry average). The respective suppliers are supported in partnership during onboarding and in their development.
